Overview

Download and store e-Library data with eLSS, your go-to eService for on-demand analyzer data

eLSS delivers a subset of information in a format that can be loaded into the customers analyzer system (cobas e-Library concept) for systems without connection to the Roche Remote Network (offline systems). cobas e-Library manages Instruction for Use documents and instrument settings (electronic barcodes). It allows manual downloads of cobas e-Library data to SWA analyzers triggered by the customer. e-Library data contain electronic barcodes (application and lot data) and Instructions for Use documents needed on the SWA analyzers.

The Roche e-Library contains important data relating to instrument settings and instructions for use. This innovative self-service tool makes it easy for laboratories to access and load e-Library data onto Serum Work Area (SWA) analyzer systems that are not connected to the Roche Remote Network (offline systems). eLSS lets you access and download a subset of information in a format that can be loaded into SWA analyzers, giving you the freedom to work independently of customer support. For maximum convenience and flexibility, you can choose to download data incrementally or all at once and store data in a range of formats, including CD, DVD, or USB.

e-Library Self Service in a nutshell

What data does e-Library Self Service deliver? While eLabDoc is designed for direct, web based online access to documents, e-Library Self Service delivers a subset of information in a format that can be loaded into the customers analyzer system (cobas e-Library concept) for systems without connection to the Roche Remote Network (offline systems). cobas e-Library manages Instruction for Use documents and instrument settings (electronic barcodes).

How does e-Library Self Service deliver? Data is published to the e-Library Self Service section of the Dialog (portal) from where it can be downloaded manually. Each download file is generated on demand and per individual offline system, and it contains an incremental set of new or updated data, at the time of the request, for that individual system. Before e-Library Self Service can be used in daily routine, a Lab Manager defines a profile for each offline system (example: profile name 'cobas 8000 [2]').

How to use e-Library Self Service? On a regular base, the Lab Operator logs in to the portal, chooses the offline system to be updated and generates the individual download file with a single click. After the download is complete it must be loaded into the importer component of the analyzer system. e-Library Self Service uses the term «gateway» for that component. For current SWA systems, this is the cobas link PC. cobas link is loaded via CD/DVD, so the download file is an ISO image that must be burned to a blank CD or DVD before import.
