Join expert-led medical workshops

This year, we're hosting two dynamic medical industry workshops featuring leading experts. Dive deep into crucial topics like cardiovascular risk assessment, focusing on Lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] and explore advancements in HPV and cervical cancer screening. Discover the latest insights and innovations designed to empower healthcare and laboratory professionals.

Agenda

Workshop 1

Lipoprotein(a) and ASCVD risk assessment: elevating awareness of lipoprotein(a), implications for ASCVD risk assessment and future clinical practice

Tuesday, Jul 29, 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Location: TBD

This workshop will emphasize the critical role of Lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk assessment and the need for increased awareness among both clinicians and laboratory professionals. Participants will gain a better understanding of how Lp(a) contributes to residual cardiovascular risk and how to interpret testing results effectively.

Key topics

  • Raising awareness of Lp(a) as an independent risk factor for ASCVD

  • Understanding the difference between mass and molar Lp(a) assays, and their isoform dependencies

  • Evaluating how Lp(a) measurement may shape future cardiovascular risk assessment leading to individualized risk-reduction strategies

Workshop 2

Innovations in cervical cancer screening and diagnosis: bridging today’s tools with tomorrow’s needs

Tuesday, Jul 30, 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Location: TBD

This workshop will explore the most recent developments in cervical cancer screening and diagnosis including HPV self-collection, new ASCCP/USPSTF guidelines and the clinical utility of emerging technologies such as HPV extended genotyping and home-collected samples. Participants will hear insights from experts about the impact these technologies can have across different populations with the aim to increase awareness and access to cervical cancer screening. A specific focus will be exploring what comes next in this constantly evolving field including the potential impacts and clinical utility of new technologies in this space.

Key topics

  • Review technology landscape for cervical cancer screening and diagnosis

  • Explore updated guidelines

  • Consider opportunities for expanding access to regular screening, especially for un(der) screened populations

  • Examine the potential impact of home-collection including obstacles for implementation and linkage to follow-up care

  • Discuss the clinical utility of extended genotyping
