S4DX closes the pre-analytical data gap between sample collection and laboratory analysis. With the S4DX system, pre-analytical errors can be significantly reduced and a digital and fully verifiable sample collection process in pre-analytics is guaranteed. The digital pre-analytical "S4DX-Flag" enables fully automated laboratory entry sample handling.

The S4DX Satellite App for the Phlebotomist provides:

  • Verification of correct patient, digital registration of human samples with accurate timestamps, real-time feedback on patient status and drawing incidents, overview on lab order completeness and missing samples, information for preanalytical guidance

  • Processing of any type of sample container (blood, urine, tissue...), from all manufacturers, all barcode types (1D, 2D, pre-barcoded)

  • Automated data exchange between customer LIS and S4DX Webservices via direct REST-API interface, Roche PPA and Roche Core Connector

The S4DX Courier App for Courier-Drivers provides:

  • Automated timestamps for sample pick-up, sample handover and sample arrival in the laboratory

  • Full transparency on sample handling in pre-analytics and traceability for each individual sample

  • Full temperature and shock monitoring for all samples, together with the S4DX Datalogger

The S4DX WebServices provides:

  • Real-time information on each sample, each order and each transport for the entire laboratory

  • KPI reporting and information for laboratory management

  • Automated flagging of samples or transports based on pre-defined individual lab parameters and requirements at lab arrival

Sample Collection

At sample collection, S4DX offers maximum flexibility.

Samples can be scanned using either the Satellite App (available for iOS and Android), a barcode scanner (along with S4DX web interface). With a single scan, you can:

  • Digitally match patient, order and samples. Patient mix-ups (“wrong blood in tube”) are avoided, the usage of correct material is checked, and completeness of orders is verified in real time

  • Individual pre-analytical sample guidance is displayed and correct handling of samples in pre-analytics is ensured

Sample Transport

Sample transport is monitored by the S4DX Courier App, which records pick-up times, routing and delivery. The S4DX-Datalogger seamlessly documents temperature, time and vibration.​

  • ​The S4DX data logger can be combined with all transport methods and can be used with all kinds of boxes, bags or pneumatic tube systems

  • All relevant time stamps, as well as the temperature profile and shock events, can be recorded for each collection site, each transport, each route and each sample

S4DX WebServices

S4DX WebServices is the laboratory's online platform for real-time analysis of all pre-analytical data.

  • The digital 'S4DX-Flag' on preanalytical quality enables fully automated process steps for all samples at lab entry. Defective samples can be automatically sorted out prior to analysis

  • All S4DX data can be integrated into any hospital/laboratory information management system using common protocol standards.

  • S4DX data complies with all GDPR standards and is ISO 27001 certified for data security
