Situation

The oncology department is a bustling hub of activity, seeing over 5,100 new patients yearly – roughly 425 cases each month. The complexity and high volume of cases presented significant challenges. Tumor board preparations, discussions, and documentation were labor-intensive, taking precious time from the dedicated staff and specialists. Coordinating care for around 800 new head and neck cancer cases annually with just two case managers and limited weekly tumor board meetings highlighted the pressing need for an innovative solution.
