Seamless Afib Detection
Perform quick and reliable Afib screenings in just one minute using the cobas® pulse device, improving early detection and patient outcomes.
This product is available on cobas® pulse system.
CardioSignal transforms the cobas® pulse device into a powerful cardiac screening tool. With just a one-minute measurement, healthcare providers can detect Afib on the spot—helping to prevent stroke and enhance patient care with minimal effort.
Perform quick and reliable Afib screenings in just one minute using the cobas® pulse device, improving early detection and patient outcomes.
CardioSignal runs directly on cobas® pulse, enabling healthcare providers to incorporate Afib detection into routine workflows without additional hardware.
CardioSignal on cobas® pulse brings effortless atrial fibrillation (Afib) detection to everyday clinical workflows. With just a one-minute measurement, healthcare professionals can assess heart rhythm quickly and reliably—without the need for additional devices or complex procedures.
A simple, one-minute measurement on the cobas® pulse device delivers immediate results, supporting timely decision-making and early intervention.
CardioSignal provides a simple yes or no result if signs of Afib have been detected.
Designed to work seamlessly within the cobas® pulse ecosystem, CardioSignal enables fast and routine Afib screenings without disrupting existing processes.
CardioSignal utilizes gyrocardiography, a patented technology that leverages the built-in motion sensors (gyroscope and accelerometer) of the cobas® pulse device to detect subtle heart movements. By placing the device on the patient’s chest for just one minute, CardioSignal analyzes heart motion patterns with high accuracy.
CardioSignal detects signs of atrial fibrillation with 96% accuracy.
One measurement lasts only 60 seconds and you receive an instant result.

CardioSignal is a mobile application and a CE class IIa marked medical device. The application is available for cobas® pulse as well as iOS and Android smartphones. CardioSignal utilizes a patented motion sensor technology that is clinically proven to detect signs of atrial fibrillation with high accuracy. If CardioSignal detects signs of atrial fibrillation in two consecutive measurements, you need a heart health assessment by a healthcare professional.
The CardioSignal application measures your heart motion. It harnesses motion sensors of a smartphone to assess how regularly your heart beats. This information can be used to detect signs of atrial fibrillation. The method, gyrocardiography, is a result of over 10 years of academic research and it has been validated in clinical studies. CardioSignal application is a class IIa medical device for detecting signs of atrial fibrillation.
Yes, the CardioSignal application has been available as a class IIa medical device since 2019. Precordior, the company behind CardioSignal, is an ISO 13485 and ISO 27001 certified medical technology company. Our technology is based on over 10 years of academic research and clinical studies.
Yes, there are restrictions of use which you can also find in the application onboarding.
Persons who have a cardiac pacemaker may not use the application. Holding a powered device close to a cardiac pacemaker can create electromagnetic interference (EMI), which may cause the pacemaker to malfunction.
The application is intended for adults. The heart rate of children and young people have natural heart rate variability, which the application may interpret incorrectly. The heart rate can vary a lot according to respiration (sinus arrhythmia), in which case irregular respiration has a greater effect on the result and a normal rhythm might look irregular.
The measurement must not be performed in the following situations: the skin on the chest is damaged in the measurement area, or the device is connected to a charger.
In addition, you shouldn’t measure right after exercising, because your heart rate will be higher than usual. We always recommend measuring when you are relaxed.
Measuring with CardioSignal is easy.
Before the measurement:
Do not measure right after exercising.
Remove any thick clothing, such as a jacket.
Starting the measurement:
Lie on your back and relax.
Press Start.
Place the device in the middle of your chest with the screen facing upward.
Keep your hands in a relaxed position at your sides.
Be still. Do not talk or cough during the measurement.
After 1 minute, the analysis is complete and the application displays the results.
Precordior is a health technology company developing novel solutions for the detection of heart diseases with digital cardiac biomarkers. The CardioSignal application detecting signs of atrial fibrillation is available in 15 countries. The CardioSignal technology utilizes motion sensors to non-invasively measure chest movements and determine cardiac motion and function. Originally an academic spinoff, the company’s patented technology is built on a decade of research and algorithm development.
